ABOUT
To explore the early look, feel and behavior of the technology of this near future world I worked as a Concept Animator on the project with Liam Young as the visual consultant. We designed a collection of robots for this grounded sci fi world. We imagined them as minimal and clean objects that would help the environments of the film feel futuristic but without the cliché’s of cyberpunk mech. This is the development work for the concession bot that is a key narrative device at the beginning of the film. With pre vis animations we tested the ways it could move and open and in concept stills we evolved the form and materiality.
